Harry Steane, aged 26, was found behind an industrial estate on Brickyard Road, Aldridge which runs adjacent to Boatman’s Lane, at around 4.40pm.

A post-mortem examination determined that Harry died from drowning. Police believe he may have taken drugs beforehand and are awaiting the results of toxicology to establish what substances he had consumed.

Police are aware there is lots of speculation around Harry’s death, and we’re asking people to stop. It’s incredibly distressing for Harry’s family at this very sad and difficult time.

Harry’s family have said: “Harry was a loving father to his son and we are heartbroken that he is gone.”

Police ask anyone with any information about Harry’s death to contact us via Live Chat on our website or call 101 quoting log 2904 of 1 July.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 111 555, tell them what you know, not who you are.
